At Synchronoss, our Site Reliability Engineers help design, build, and operate highly available, scalable infrastructure that supports our customers throughout the entire client lifecycle, from initial build-out and deployment to ongoing operations and support. In this role, you’ll work closely with internal teams and corporate clients to ensure reliable services, strong operational practices, and clear documentation that enables high-quality support and continuous improvement.
Design, build, and maintain high-capacity, highly available infrastructure in distributed environments
Support client onboarding, deployments, and ongoing operations with a focus on reliability and performance
Create, maintain, and improve technical documentation to support operations and knowledge sharing
Troubleshoot incidents and performance issues, driving timely resolution and root-cause analysis
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve systems, processes, and tooling
Continuously learn and adapt as technologies, platforms, and procedures evolve
Strong experience with Linux system administration and support
Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Kubernetes and Docker
Experience working across a broad range of AWS services
Ability to script in at least one language such as Shell, Python, Ruby, or Perl
Experience administering Linux systems (Red Hat Enterprise Linux or Rocky Linux preferred)
Experience building, maintaining, or supporting CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Bamboo, Spinnaker, ArgoCD)
Ability to troubleshoot Java-based server applications, including Tomcat, Apache, and APIs in distributed systems
Working knowledge of NFS and other storage technologies
Experience implementing or supporting monitoring and alerting solutions
Strong incident response and problem-solving skills, with a focus on effective and timely resolution
Comfort working both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Clear verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt messaging to different audiences
Experience working with ticketing systems
Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible)
Familiarity with cloud platforms beyond AWS, such as GCP
Understanding of load balancing and networking fundamentals
Exposure to database technologies (e.g., Oracle, MariaDB, MySQL, Cassandra)
Experience with monitoring and observability tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana, Nagios)
Familiarity with Linux package management or kernel development
