Senior Software Engineer

We’re Looking for someone with a strong software engineering, Android Java/Kotlin knowledge and React JS working experience who has taken these skills into the mobile applications sphere to deliver native and hybrid applications.

Android Software Engineers II have good understanding of software engineering discipline and engineers in this role are expected to follow best industry practices plus creativity to effectively implement and support software solutions on Android platform.

Android Senior Software Engineers II are expected to do work following guidance provided by Senior or Lead Software Engineers on a team.

They use Java/Kotlin languages, as well as JavaScript/TypeScript languages and various Android and Web development tools working in teams with other IT professionals, or alone. They are expected to work with Business Analysts, Subject Matter Experts, and other project stakeholders to implement application software based on varying levels of written requirements and verbal input. Implementation includes coding, unit testing, delivery, and source code management.

• Involved with all phases of mobile application development from initial concepts, through design, development, testing and deployment
• Responsible for development and support of native Android applications
• Develop Android and hybrid applications across multiple releases.
• Work within SCRUM agile process with other stakeholders (Product Owners, Architects, XD design, Quality Engineers) as well as across organization to balance creative objectives with business needs and technical requirements 
• Follow best practices by producing high quality, documented and testable code

• 5+ years of successful experience as a developer for native and hybrid Android applications
• Good understanding of mobile software development life cycle
• Working knowledge of JavaScript/TypeScript language and React JS technologies for delivering Progressive Web Applications (PWA) and hybrid applications
• Experience in utilizing multi-threading technologies to create highly responsive data intensive applications
• Good knowledge of Android frameworks, especially for handling Contacts, Messaging, Telephony and Media
• Knowledge with web service architecture, protocols, security and data formats (Ex. REST, OAuth, JSON, etc.) and implementation patterns on Android platform including both Google and 3^rd party tools/frameworks
• Good understanding of memory management practices
• Experience creating/maintaining unit tests including mock objects and unit tests for asynchronous code
• Good understanding of OS UI guidelines.
• Good handle of Android profiling tools
• Good written and oral communication skills, ability to multi-task, follow set priorities and meet tight deadlines 
• Good conceptual, analytical and problem-solving abilities

• Experience with Git, GitFlow branching model
• Experience working with SCRUM and/or Agile development environments
• Working knowledge of Ionic React framework

Educational Requirements and Experience

• BE in Computer Science or related field.
